We now arrange a time to meet the cat in person at the foster carer’s house. If all goes well, you can complete the adoption agreement form and pay the adoption fee.
Once the adoption fee has been received, parents can take their cat home and begin their 2-week adoption trial. New parents will need to submit an adoption agreement form and pay an adoption fee ($200 for a single cat or $300 for a single kitten) prior to the trial.
During this trial, parents may return the cat for any reason and medical expenses will be covered by our charity. 50% of the adoption fee can be returned if the adoption trial doesn’t work out. It is our requirement that all cats are vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, and flea-and-worm protected prior to this trial, with all their paperwork handed over during the meet-and-great.
We provide support as needed around introducing a new cat to your home. The RSPCA Smart Kitten and Cat Buyer’s Guide is a great resource to help you get started.
